October is here, my friends. I am sad to say goodbye to summer, but I am looking forward to so much this fall. Especially October!
1. The Girl on the Train (Movie)
Some of you may know my obsession with movies. I try to go to the movies at least once a week. And yes, I have seen two movies in one day. It was amazing. The second that I saw the trailer for The Girl on the Train I knew it was a movie that I needed to see. Then I found out it was based on a book. I am not a huge reader, but I just could not wait for the movie. So I did something crazy and bought the book. Now the question remained…would I actually read it? That would be a YES. I read it in one weekend and it did not disappoint. October 7th can’t come soon enough. I can’t wait to see the movie version!
2. California Dreaming
California, here we come! Cue the music from The OC (aka my all time favorite show). So, I have actually only been to California one time. And it was just to LAX to grab a connecting flight to Hawaii. I have wanted to go to California for as long as I can remember. I will be heading to the sunshine state later in October with my friend, Erin. And. I. Can. Not. Wait. Don’t worry, I will be talking about all of the fun adventures in California. I will be staying in the LA-ish area, so if anyone has any recommendations, please send them my way!
3. Tunic + Cardi + Leggings
So a few years ago, I really disliked leggings. I thought they were goofy and would quietly go away. But I was wrong. Little by little, I began incorporating leggings into my wardrobe. Now, they are such a huge staple in every girl’s wardrobe. I can’t even imagine life without them. Ok, a bit dramatic, but you get the picture. And of course, what goes perfect with leggings? Tunics, of course! I love the look of leggings, tunics and a slouchy cardi. It is effortless, chic, and super comfortable.
Tunic: Annka Border Slip, Free People $98
Cardi: Boucle Slouch Cardi, Free People $128
Leggings: SPANX Faux Leather Legging, Nordstrom $98
4. Pumpkin Everything
It’s officially that time of year: Pumpkins galore. Many of you probably indulge in the ever-so famous pumpkin spiced latte from Starbucks. I am not a coffee drinker, so sadly, I sit that one out. Whether you check out an adorable pumpkin patch, or fill your house with Anthropologie’s pumpkin souffle candle (guilty!), you can’t help but to be drawn into everything pumpkin. Plus, it is one of the best smells in the entire world.
Pumpkin Souffle candle, Anthropologie $18
Pumpkin Tea towel, Anthropologie $16
Yes, I am a big movie goer, but I am also a big TV watcher. And I am not afraid to admit it. Shameless is hands down one of my favorite shows on TV right now. I have been watching it since the beginning and each year is crazier than the last. I can’t wait to see where the show takes us this year. And let’s just talk about the hotness of Lip Gallagher for a moment…who doesn’t love a bad ass? Why this show doesn’t crush every award is beyond me. This show and cast deserves it! If you haven’t watched Shameless, I recommend that you start immediately. You won’t regret it. Season 7 starts up on October 2nd!
